Why your support matters

We’re a self-funded, volunteer-run organisation — and we wouldn’t exist without the support of our audience. Ticket sales cover most costs, but donations are essential to keeping our standards high and our tickets affordable.

Simply coming to our concerts or spreading the word by telling your friends and family about us make a real difference to the Society. However, if you’ve enjoyed one of our concerts – or just believe in the power of live music – perhaps you would consider making a donation to the society.

Every donation helps us to:

  • Plan with confidence and book outstanding performers, including international artists.
  • Support emerging musicians at key moments in their careers.
  • Keep concerts accessible to a broad audience here in the Tyne Valley.

We can do more with your support!

How to make a donation

You can do this online with a bank card or by cheque or bank transfer – whatever works best for you. What’s more, if you’re a UK taxpayer and are happy to Gift Aid your donation, we can, as a registered charity, claim a further 25% from the government at absolutely no cost to you.

  • Make an online donation when you buy an annual season ticket – click here to get started.
  • Send a cheque c/o Cathy Duncan, Treasurer, Hexham and District Music Society, 6 Oakwood, NE46 4LF. If you wish to donate by bank transfer, you can request our bank details by e-mailing Cathy at treasurer@hexhammusic.net .
  • Gift Aid – if you are happy for the Society to claim Gift Aid on your donation – at no cost to you – please complete the Gift Aid form and return it to us.

Get involved

The Society relies on the involvement and work of volunteer members in running its concert season.

If you’d like to get involved, you’d be very welcome. You don’t need to have specialist musical knowledge to be able to make a valuable contribution. It’s enthusiasm and interest that count!

Find out more by speaking to committee members at our concerts or by contacting us.
